Your Melton Local Plan is a plan for future developments in the Melton Borough. It is created with help from our residents and drawn up by us.

We can plan positively for the development and infrastructure that communities need, setting priorities for the area. Through the plan, we can help to deliver:

• More new housing and affordable homes

• Leisure and commercial development

• Infrastructure, such as new roads and schools

• More jobs
   

In late 2017, Melton Borough Council submitted the Local Plan for examination. This submission was the Pre-Submission Draft Melton Local Plan as amended by the Addendum of Focused Changes.

At the beginning of 2018, the examination of the Melton Local Plan took place. Following the examination further modifications were added to the Local Plan in order to make it sound in the Main Mods stage during the Summer of 2018. Finally, on October 2018 the Full Council adopted the Local Plan alongside the Policies Map.
